Sometimes our favorite female celebrities like to put the ultra-feminine style to rest for a bit, and opt for a more androgynous look. The tomboy fashion style has always had this allure of mystery and edge, as popularized by classic fashion icon and French songstress Francoise Hardy, and some celebrity A-listers who have been seen sporting tailored tuxedos during red carpet events.
Tailored tuxedo’s are still a great hit on the red carpet as of date, and they don’t always have to look too masculine. Musician Lorde pairs the tuxedo with a black crop top and she looks very sleek in her all black tailored ensemble. Another star who’s gone the tuxedo route is Bella Thorne, with a form-fitting tailored suit, accessorized minimally by stacked rings, and no handbag. Rita Ora, on the other hand, pulls off a black and white tailored suit that’s both structured, yet loose enough to add a feminine touch.
The tailored tux doesn’t always have to be black or white though to achieve that tomboy appeal either. Cara Delevingne has worn a shiny, electric blue suit with just the coat and the pants, and a pair of ultra sexy and minimal sandals, and she looks quite daring and elegant nonetheless. Coco Rocha, on the other hand, wears a dark magenta glittered suit with pointy black pumps, and she looks very on point and sharp.
There are a lot of ways to channel your inner tomboy and these stars were brave enough to go against the norm and experiment with different looks to add to their style repertoire.
